Timesheets Tell the Story
How do we know the hours donated by caring RSVP volunteers? Timesheets submitted monthly by individuals and worksites identifying their hours of service provide this important reporting information.
Providing this information to the Corporation for National Service in Orlando is a requirement for continued federal funding for Marion County RSVP. The numbers are also used to attract other federal, state and local grant funding and donations to support a wide range of programs from literacy to respite care.
Nevertheless, some of our most hardworking and conscientious volunteers are not submitting their timesheets. When asked why, they respond, “I didn’t think it was important” or “I volunteer because I want to help, not because I want to get credit.” The RSVP office needs individuals and work sites to help collect this information in order for the program to expand and recruit more seniors to further respond to the needs of the community.
Thanks to each and every one of you for the hours you donate for the good of our community. An extra special thanks to those sending in their timesheets. Please help us tell the whole story about retired and senior volunteers in our community. Make sure you submit your monthly timesheets. If you need help getting started, please call the RSVP office at 291-4444. |
