Effective September 31, 2002, the Corporation for National Service, the federal agency for volunteer and community service, notified Central Florida Community College that the college's application for sponsorship of the local Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)was accepted. The grant provides funding for RSVP staff, equipment, and supplies.

RSVP of Marion County is located in the CFCC Ewers Century Center. It can be found in the new Pathways Center, along with the Senior Institute, the Legacy Health and Independant Living Program, and Pathways Coaching and Referral Program.
Dian Booth, RSVP Manager, has implemented plans that include a strong focus on identifying and creating higher-level volunteer activities to provide our volunteers with additional opportunities to put their skills and experience to work in the community.
We look forward to increased collaboration, new partnerships, and most importantly, greater recognition of one of our most valuable resources — OUR VOLUNTEERS. They are the best kind of people.
